Monthly Construction Log - July 2008
| Date | |
Continued deburring and polishing of stabilator parts. Received formal notice of reservation of tail number N519MM. [It's as close to S19 as you can get :-) ]
Continued deburring and polishing of stabilator parts. Waiting on a backside deburring bit for the rear spar top and bottom holes. Everything else is now ready for priming.
Replaced bad rivets on vertical stabilizer (see log entry for May 22, 2008). The vertical stabilizer is now complete except for the plastic tip that is back-ordered.
No work.
Started anti-servo tab assembly. Modified center spacers, then primed and riveted center rib/spacer assembly. Can't do any further work on anti-servo tab until stabilator is assembled to allow hinge placement.
Found that three CCPQ-42 rivets on the vertical stabilizer frame not shown to be installed did in fact need to be installed. Was able to pull them using a hand riveting tool through a lightening hole.
No work.
Finished deburring and cleaning all stabilator parts for priming except skins.
Primed all stabilator frame parts except skins. Began reassembly and riveting of stabilator frame. The spar bars were clecoed into place before assembling the ribs, rather than waiting until until after the ribs since it makes them much more cumbersome to install.
Completed riveting of stabilator frame. Began deburring, edge polishing, and cleaning of skins for priming.
No work.
Finished deburring, polishing, and cleaning stabilator skins.
Primed stabilator skins. Assembled skins onto stabilator frame and riveted. (The blue masking tape was just a reminder not to rivet the #6 ribs while it was in the jig.) Removed stabilator from jig and riveted #6 ribs. Stabilator is ready for tip installation, but tips are backordered. Started set-up for assembling and drilling anti-servo tab hinges.
Started transfer drilling anti-servo tab.
Completed transfer drilling. Disassembled and began deburring/polishing/cleaning for priming.
Completed prepping parts for priming.
Primed all anti-servo tab parts. Reassembled and riveted.
