Started drilling holes in lower instrument panel area for ignition switch, headset jacks, power control unit switches, and alternator circuit breaker.
Continued work on electrical control unit. Primed roll bar.
No work.
Fitted electrical control unit to lower instrument panel and drilled mounting holes.
Finished lower control panel drilling. Did test fit of ignition switch, alternator circuit breaker, and electrical control unit with temporary placard. Drilled holes for static ports on aft fuselage just above 5th rivet forward of bulkhead #3. (Per Ed, Rans is using the 5th rivet hole as their new static port location.) Holding off installing ports until get the elbow fittings for them. Drilled and tapped Dynon AOA pitot tube for mounting in the Gretz Aero pitot tube mount. Drilling and cut-out rear panel of electrical control unit for load connectors and grommets.

Picked up wings and wheels/brakes kit from Fedex terminal. (13' long crate, 8'x5' trailer, ...) Started unpacking crate. Kudos to Rans for screwing the top on instead of stapling.
No work.
In what has got to be the ultimate example of the best tech support on the planet, I got an email from Ed today letting me that someone at Rans was looking at this website and noticed I had reversed the bulkhead sides on the forward fuselage (see annotated picture from Ed below) when I had started putting the forward section back together again.  THANKS, RANS! So, the first order of business today was to pop those off and put them on correctly to eliminate that particular source of embarrassment. We'll all just pretend we didn't see that. I'm getting ready to paint that area now that the lower panel is ready, so I am REALLY grateful to have fixed it before that. That fiasco behind, continued the final assembly of the electrical control unit circuit board.

Primed electrical control unit enclosure. Drilledinstrument panel mounting holes to 5/16". Cut holes in panel for vents.
Painted electrical control unit enclosure. Rearranged work area to make room for the wing spar fit-up.
Unpacked and inventoried majority of wings/wheels crate. Fitted wing spars into spar carry-through and reamed bolt holes to 3/8". Removed wing spars.
Nearly finished wings/wheels crate inventory - can't get the last parts out until I have somewhere flat that is long enough to put them. Installed elbows into static ports and riveted the static ports to fuselage. Drilled hole for 12V power outlet in lower panel.
Painted lower instrument panel and side supports.

Finished inventory of wings kit. Set up wing spars on sawhorses.
Made panel cut-outs for ELT remote control panel, stabilator trim indicator, Dynon FlightDek 180 EFIS/EMS, and EMS alarm light. Transfer drilled wing tie downs and bell crank attach angles to wing spars.

No work.
Continued assembly and enclosure work on electrical control unit.
Mounted Dynon frame to instrument panel. Started assembly of aft inboard wing ribs (station 1-4, 5, 7).
Transfer drilled aft wing rib stiffeners and gussets (left ribs for station 1-4, 5, 7).

Assembled front tire onto hub. (Painted with Imron courtesy of my son, who also squeezed the rivets for the pitot mast nutplates.) Transfer drilled aft wing rib stiffeners and gussets (right ribs for station 1-4, 5, 7). Modified forward ribs for station 6 and 7. Prepped both wing spars for priming. Started deburring and edge polishing of all wing rib parts.

Continued deburring and edge polishing of all wing rib parts.
Continued deburring and edge polishing of all wing rib parts.
