Monthly Construction Log - May 2010

1 Installed main wheels. Aircraft is now off the blocks!
2 Installed cabin heat control cable. Filed small relief notches into the tube end to allow access to the set screws - would have been much easier to do BEFORE it was riveted in... Installed throttle and choke cables, aux power (12V) connector, and master switch into sub-panel. Still need to tighten throttle cable nut - the new sub-panel support bracket makes access to the throttle cable nut pretty much impossible.

4 Installed fuel line from firewall to gascolator. Spliced wires to fuel pump and started fuel pump installation.
5 Installed fuel line from gascolator to fuel pump.

8 Worked on electrical control unit assembly and functional test.

15 Installed ignition switch and alternator circuit breaker into sub-panel.
16 Fabricated radio rack for panel. Made panel cut-out for radio stack and started install of radio rack. Drilled hole in panel for electrical control unit warning light.

18 Fitted transponder mount to radio rack and drilled mounting holes.

21 Continued software development and testing of electrical control unit.
22 Fabricated box for electrical control unit.

25 Drilled mounting holes for electrical control unit - it will sit behind the panel on the right side. Finished drilling radio rack mounting holes for comm radio.
